I recently had the good fortune to be asked to teach glass fusing which meant I had to learn the "right way" to do it.  At first I railed against the finicky nature of the glass and the limited parameters set forth to produce a successful piece.  Now I welcome these rules as it gives me a framework in which I can let my imagination run free to explore shapes and colors in a way I have not allowed myself to do in clay.
